Up Your Game with Free Courses from Coursera

Coursera isn’t exactly a secret: the site offers over 5,800 courses across a wide variety of disciplines. But did you know that almost half of those courses are offered completely free? This makes the site a fantastic resource to up your skills game across a multitude of business-related topics.

Want to learn more about AI? I’m doing a free course on the topic as we speak. Interested in learning about personal finance? You better believe there are tons of free courses on the topic. There are free courses on negotiating effectively, psychology, Excel, Marketing… the list goes on.

“Yeah but how good are the courses, really?” I hear you asking over there.

I mean… the content was compiled by professor from the likes of Harvard and Stanford, so… yeah, they’re pretty solid. Reviews for the courses tend to be extremely positive.

I share this with you because, especially at a time when many companies are conducting mass layoffs and budgets are tight, Coursera offers a free way for you to continue your personal development journey without paying hundreds or thousands of dollars or getting your manager’s approval.

If you’ve been laid off, taking courses through Coursera can be a great way to showcase your commitment to continued learning, and possibly set yourself apart from your peers. For a small fee, you can get a digital certificate alongside your completed courses, which acts as proof of completion.

Wrapping it Up

I’m not being paid to promote Coursera (though I probably should be!); I just really believe that the platform offers a great way to upskill on your terms, at a time when many of us need it. There’s never been more change in the world at the same time, and for those of us who aren’t on the brink of retirement, we can’t afford to stop learning!
